Sinharaja Rainforest

Timing tips
- Enter early and let your driver keep to quiet loops before crowds build.
- Stay with a sighting for behavior rather than chasing many vehicles.

- In rain, animal movement slows. Focus on birds and close habitat details.
Family notes
- Booster seats on request for transfers.
- Ear defenders help sensitive kids with jeep noise.
- Carry snacks, water and a light blanket for early starts.
- Choose shorter two to three hour drives for younger children.
What to pack
- Neutral clothing, hat and sunglasses. A warm layer for early mornings from December to February.
- Refillable bottle, high SPF sunscreen and insect repellent.
- Binoculars, spare batteries and a dry bag for cameras.
- Leech socks and closed shoes for Sinharaja.
Responsible wildlife viewing
- Keep distance and never feed animals.
- No loud music or shouting. Phones on silent.
- Drones are not permitted inside national parks.
- Follow guide instructions and give animals the right of way.
- Carry back all litter. Use refill points where possible.
